In order to assess the current status and health of a given asset, Axiom can perform data collections to capture and evaluate the asset’s current condition. This enable us to assist our clients to:
- Synthesize and interpret data
- Assess condition and predict deterioration
- Collect condition
indices such as PCI for pavements
- Develop and update maintenance decision trees
As an example, for road/street networks, a condition survey comprises the evaluation of geometric properties and distress quantification exhibited on the network. Among the geometric features, we collect:
- Width
- Length
- Number of lanes
- Presence of median and center lanes
- Surface type (asphalt, concrete, tar and chip, gravel, etc.)
Our distress surveys are based on AASHTO guidelines and protocols for data collection. The goal is to determine the type, severity, and extent of existing distresses such as:
